Investing in Community: Ministry Highlight - Chapel of Change (CA)

Chapel of Change is one church with four locations in Los Angeles County, California. What started as a small mid-week home Bible study is now a diverse community that reaches thousands with the fresh hope of King Jesus and His Kingdom in this hurting world.

Recently, Chapel of Change contacted the Free Methodist Investment and Loan Fund for assistance in securing a ranch home in Long Beach, California. Their desire was to establish a special ministry to heal broken women in the urban setting and raise them up to be leaders in the church. They call this ministry the Women’s Abide Discipleship Home. It sits on a half-acre of land with goats, sheep, horses, and gardens. Women live there for 12-24 months and engage in a spiritual program of discipleship regarding what it looks like to have a strong connection with God, a healthy connection with others, and how to live as an ambassador for Christ in the community. The Kingsmen Discipleship Home is a similar setting for men.
